Models in Motion
Representing phenomena through process and iteration

This project examined how natural phenomena—fleeting, sensory, and often intangible—can be represented through layered design processes. Rather than treating a model as a static object, I approached it as a dynamic system shaped by motion, vitality, and change. Iteration became central to the work, as I explored how to translate complex events into notational diagrams, sectional drawings, and ultimately a model that captured the cadence of landscape processes.

By foregrounding process as the protagonist, the project pushed me to deconstruct and synthesize relationships across multiple scales and media. Through iterative diagramming, digital modeling, and physical testing, I developed new ways of articulating the interconnected sensory and physical impacts of landscape. The result was not a singular “finished” image, but an evolving representation that emphasized storytelling, experimentation, and the generative role of design practice.
