Assembling the Remapped Landscape
Synthesizing precedent logics and remediation processes into a speculative site design
This final study brought together precedent analysis, iterative prototyping, and soil remediation strategies to generate a speculative spatial scenario. Building on the values and design sensibilities of my assigned firm, I critically reflected on what their work privileges and what it overlooks, translating those insights into a new authorship. The project framed remediation not only as a technical constraint but also as a design driver, shaping site phasing, circulation, and programmatic access.
The outcome was a detailed site plan and sectional studies that emphasized the “thickness” of the ground plane, where ecological, social, and remedial systems intersect. Representation moved beyond conventional realism, experimenting with vector-based drawing and texturing to foreground process and narrative. By synthesizing design logic, material expression, and performance over time, the project positioned landscape as an active medium for ecological repair and as a critical lens on contemporary design practice.
